About Us
Led by guitarist Bobby Rivera since the year 2000, this Milwaukee based group has rocked dance-crazed audiences from the East Coast to the West Coast with their unique approach to 50's and 60's style instrumental music.  They have been featured on national radio broadcasts, television, and music festivals throughout the USA and abroad.

While the lineup has changed over the years and the bandname is changing, bandleader and guitarist Bobby Rivera's musical focus has not.  "Play roots music ( and to Bobby that means just about every genre of American Music from Honky Tonk  to Jazz standards) the way it way it was intended... honestly".

Enter the new, Ace lineup:  Jim Billmeier on the mighty Upright Bass,  Brian Kreutziger on the drumkit and Miss Pauline York on lead vocals and rhythm guitar.  Blending their combined knowledge of old-school Rock and Roll , Instrumental, Honky Tonk, Rockabilly, Blues, 60's Garage, and Jazz, the band sounds as new and exciting as they ever have!

Blending their firery vocal and instrumental originals with well chosen covers (from the vaults of long gone blues, honky tonk, and rock and roll masters of the 40's-60's)  this combo will make you want to rock and swing 'til the "last call for alchohol"... A new record is slated for release for Summer of 2008.

Bobby Rivera

Bobby Rivera has shared the stage (as a member of various different bands) with such acts as Brian Setzer, Sleepy Labeef, Ronnie Dawson, Marti Brom,  The Paladins, The Blazers, Dick Dale, Link Wray, Red Elvis's, The Vibro Champs, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Jim Lauderdale, Alejandro Escovado, Southern Culture On the Skids, Flat Duo Jets.  Bobby also backed (along with his own hand picked band) the Queen of Rockabilly, Wanda Jackson, at her only 2006 Milwaukee, WI appearance.

In 1999, Bobby was lucky enough to do a 2-year stint as a member of critically-acclaimed and internationally known Instrumental masters, The Exotics.  He was also  a founding member of MKE's own R&B Kings, the  Uptown Savages.  Bobby  was most recently a member of regional Hilbilly Boogie heroes (now defunct), The Western Starlanders (click here for some tunes) ;playing both doubleneck 8-string console steel and lead guitar.

Pauline York
Since jumping into the Chicago music scene in 1997, Pauline York has been putting her personal spin on American roots & blues music. Notwithstanding her amazing vocal skills, Pauline is a fine and acclaimed lead guitarist in her own right, although she limits her guitar skills to rhythm when playing with The Del Ripleys. Pauline is deeply rooted in roots music styles, falling in love with the Louisiana Cajun sound, and finding real soul in the music of Stax artists and other Memphis musicians.

Jim Billmeier
Jim "The Big Noise from Illinois" Billmeier... All Bobby needed to know about Jim was his bass prowess, knowledge of roots music,  and a that a 1974 "Pregnancy Test Blue" Dodge Scamp Slant Six Coupe was sittin' in his garage.

At age fourteen, Mr. Billmeier studied bass with Sonic Youth's venerable Jim O'Rourke.
At sixteen, Jim did his first professional bass playing with a "British Bluesbreakers" influenced band called "the Screaming Blue Dogs". He did his debut stage performance at Chicago's Legendary Gateway Theater with a regional tour schedule to follow.

After Jim became of age (legally), he cut his teeth at Chicago clubs playing everything from Rockabilly  to Texas Blues.

When he isn't busy "Laying Down the Low" for the Rivieras, Jim is  playing electric bass for  The Pauline York Band,  and rocking at blues festivals throughout the country; backing artists such as Paul "Wine" Smith, Lonnie Brooks and Barrelhouse Chuck.
Their latest album, "Get Down And Ride", reached #19 on the Living Blues Music Charts.
Brian Kreutziger
Brian "El Drummo" Kreutziger is the man with the history of the "Big Beat" permanently  branded onto his hands.
He is also music studies graduate from "Some Fancy Book-Learnin' College".

"El Drummo" started out his career in Rock as the drummer for Midwest-indie-rock favorite's Tolstoi's Tricycle.  Brian also belted out lead vocals and beat the skins for acclaimed Detroit Rocker's, the Blackwalls.

In the interim, he has honed his percussion skills (on instruments ranging from Marimba to the Tabla), and played with numerous orchestras throughout Wisconsin and Illinois.  Brian is a tried and true pro at his craft.

He is also known throughout the Latin world (loosely translated to English) as :  "The Man Who Taught Esteban To Play Castinets Whilst The High-Heeled Hookers Dance to Wham!".  We are not sure what that means, but its sounds good...
